Bio

You're absolutely right about the foundational nature of math. Each new concept often builds on previous ones, which means that missing even a small piece can create significant challenges later on. This is why it's so crucial to identify and address gaps in understanding as soon as possible.

The Schoology Math Mastery (SMM) curriculum seems to be well-designed to address these issues. By focusing on finding and filling gaps in students' mathematical foundations, SMM helps ensure that students can build on solid ground rather than struggling with incomplete knowledge.

The personalized approach that SMM offers—allowing students to learn at their own pace and focus on areas where they need the most support—can make a big difference. When students are able to master foundational concepts before moving on to more complex ones, they’re more likely to feel confident and succeed in their mathematical studies.

In essence, this tailored learning environment not only helps students stay engaged but also ensures that they have the tools they need to thrive, rather than being overwhelmed by concepts that they’re not yet ready for.

Empowering Students

Expert Math Tutor

At Math Mastery, we are dedicated to helping students excel in math. I have three years of experience teaching math at Surad Academy in Faribault, Minnesota, where I’ve worked closely with students from low-income backgrounds to help them achieve exceptional academic growth.

One notable success was a fourth-grade student who, after not passing the MCAS in third grade, exceeded expectations just a year later through consistent support and focused instruction. Another remarkable achievement was a second-grade student who scored in the 99th percentile on the MAP Growth test—demonstrating the power of targeted, engaging math instruction.
